About Top Dollar Pawn

Family Bio's

Michael – Manager

September 22nd, 2009

Welcome to my store.  I pretend to run things around here but I am not sure the rest of the gang would vouch for that.  Top Dollar Pawn was started by my father twenty-five years ago.  I worked here during my summer vacations throughout high school and college.   I then moved to the Big Apple, New York City, where I helped to start a company by the name of Syrup Inc.   I operated as their CTO until I moved back down to Washington, DC so that my father could start to enjoy his retirement.  I feel like I have adopted a new family working here and that family continues to grow as I meet and help new people every day.  Come in and say hi – i’d love to spend some time talking with you.

Stuffie – Manager

September 22nd, 2009

Stuffie

William, better known to everyone in the community as Stuffie has been a manager at Top Dollar Pawnbrokers for well over 8 years. He’s worked in numerous pawnshops prior to coming on board with us. On the side he manages a band called “What Band” and is somewhat of a celebrity in the community. Although his boss has asked him numerous times for a bio he has yet to write one… stay tuned and if you lucky a more extensive one shall be posted soon.

Mike – Assistant Manager

September 21st, 2009

Hi! I’m Mike T.
Ive been in the pawn business since 1991. I’m what they call a “jack of all trades”. Of all the things I’ve done for a living, this is my favorite. I love being able to talk to all the different people that come to the shop. I feel I’ve been put here to help people and I take that responsibility very seriously. I’ve been married for over 12 years now to my wife Leniece whom I also work along side. I have 2 children (12 & 20) and I love to sing for God!

Leniece – Sales Associate

September 21st, 2009

My name is Leniece.  I have worked in this industry for about 18 years.  I LOVE the people.  Serving the community gives me great joy.  I’m married with 2 children.  Supporting my church of 23 years is a blessing from God. I love the people I work with;  especially my husband Michael.  The customers refer to me as the lady with the smile.  I will put a smiley face on every ticket I write.  If you mention this bio when you come in, I’ll give an extra 5% off. :)

Icyboy (A Good Father) – Senior Pawnbroker

September 18th, 2009

carlosI was born in Washington, DC at the Greater South East Hospital on April 2, 1969.  My parents were good parents who raised a good son; caring, sharing and now a good father of three.  My oldest, Carlos Jr., Nia and the baby Camorie.  I work very hard for my kids.  I put in a lot of hours to make sure they have everything they need.  I don’t ever want to have to tell them no cause I don’t have the money.  Daddy wears Gucci and Prada every day so I have to come correct when it comes to the kids.  I was shot and carjacked and robbed in 2008.  All I could think about was my daughter Camorie cause she was just an infant and all I kept thinking was ‘I am not ready to leave her’.  My oldest daughter Nia’s father passed away before she was born and it was very hard for my girlfriend at the time because he was murdered for one and I know she was very much in love with him.  She had a nervous break down and I had a lot on my plate to get her back together for her daughter.  That is how Nia came into my life.  I had her under my wings for a very long time.  They say when you feed them enough they start to look like you and everybody that sees her says she looks just like me.  I just look with a smile and say she sure does.  I have all three of my kids under the same roof, no child support or any help from the government.  It’s all on Top Dollar Pawn and family.  I’m funny, crazy and a big time flirt but I mean no harm, all in fun when i’m on the lock.  A party animal on some nights but a loving father on most night at the end of the day.

Terrell – Pawnbroker

September 17th, 2009

Terrell is fast approaching his one year anniversary with Top Dollar Pawnbrokers.  The year has gone by faster then imagined and now that we’ve had him for a year little does he know but the next ten are a sure bet.  He spends his weekends playing music in the church which is what he loves best.

Nestor – Jeweler

September 16th, 2009

Nestor has been Top Dollar Pawn’s Jeweler for as long as I can remember. He can do it all – from setting diamonds, sizing rings, sparkling up your new or old purchase to helping you design the piece of your dreams. Simple to the most complex custom work Nestor can handle it all. He is hard to find buried behind his desk working away but don’t hesitate to ask for him if you have any questions. (He wouldn’t mind a nice pat on the back for his hard work every once in a while either.. ;-)

Rosa – Sales Associate

September 16th, 2009

Rosa has been working at Top Dollar Pawnbrokers for over eight years. She is an exceptional sales associate and Top Dollar Pawn would not be what it is today if it were not for her. If you need someone to trust and to show you the best quality jewelry/diamonds money can buy then ask for Rosa, you won’t be disappointed.

September 15th, 2009

Markinda, or better known to us as Kina is another one of our star sales associates. Kina has been working at Top Dollar Pawnbrokers for over four years. Quiet but won’t let you leave without the perfect engagement ring for your girl.
